The Diotima Centre is a non-profit, non-governmental women’s organisation and has been very active in the field for more than 30 years. It was established in 1989 following an initiative of a group of women from different academic backgrounds. Its vision is to combat gender discriminations and our mission is to preserve gender rights and empower women and femininities who are in need. Support services to gender-based violence survivors through specialized legal and sociopsychological aid are at the core of Diotima’s action. Moreover the organization carries out researches, specializes in training courses on gender and gender based violence topics. It also implements communication and raise awareness campaigns and advocates in order to unsilence groups of women who remain usually excluded. Since 2016 the organization has extended its activities to provide support to women, LGBTQI+ people, men survivors of sex and gender based violence and tortures with refugee background.

Τhe Department of Communication and Mass Media of the University of Athens has a rigorous presence in teaching and research regarding the important field of communication, in relation with politics, psychology, mass media, digital and other. It has a central role in Greek society and culture. The National and Kapodistrian University of Athens is the oldest University of Greece, and the second largest of the country. It is a public institution, and home to more than 200 postgraduate programs, while it handles a great number of research and advisory programs, supported by national and European funding.
Since 2017, Civil Non-profit Company Genderhood has been promoting gender equality and the prevention of gender stereotypes and gender-based violence. It is the first organization in Greece specializing in gender equality for children. Having the child at its core, it takes a holistic approach to all people around the child, especially parents and teachers, but also adults who look forward to the free expression of all genders. Genderhood advocates for human rights through active learning and art practices. Its vision is a world of gender-free expression and its mission is to empower communities of all ages to independently co-create a world of gender equality. The organization designs educational programs, socio-cultural activities and creative workshops for children and adults of all ages.
